Birth in Motion
Birth preparation that works through the body, so you reach the big day knowing your pelvis, your breath and your options.
Confidence you learn with your body
Birth is a physical event, and an emotional one. The better a woman knows her body and her options, the more active and calm she can be on the day, whichever way the birth unfolds.
Birth in Motion brings together pelvic physiotherapy and osteopathy with hands-on preparation: we move, we breathe and we practise what you will use on the day.
It does not replace your maternity unit's antenatal classes or your obstetric care. It complements them.

What we will work on
The pelvis in motion
How the pelvis opens and adapts during labour, and why movement helps the baby descend.
Breathing with the body
Breathing for contractions, for the pauses and for the pushing stage, without bracing the pelvic floor.
Positions and tools
Birth ball, upright, kneeling, side-lying: positions for each stage and how to use them in hospital.
Preparing the perineum
Perineal massage from 34 weeks and protecting the perineum at birth.
The birth partner’s role
Touch, support and words that help. Partners learn to be present in a useful way.
The first days after
What to expect right after birth, how to protect the pelvic floor and when to ask for help.
